Artsy Crafts February 2011

OMG!!! Have you seen that Tim Holtz is doing the Artsy Crafts event in February? Very Happy
Sophie

I know, I soooo want to go, but I've had to put my sensible hat on and I don't think I can justify the cost  Sad

Hopefully the projects will be on his blog and Leandra will have her stuff published in Craft Stamper magazine.
Jojo79

Wow, I am going this October. I may have to save my pennies for this, though I think there will be a huge demand  Shocked
vonny

I hadn't seen but had guessed when lin had hinted.
Will have to go and see but I bet it will book ultra fast!

Oh that will be a good time it will get booked quickly and blast I won't be able to afford it  Sad

Jennie

Hmm I'm actually south for a wedding that weekend too.
Pat

I willl buy a ticket to go to Tim's workshop if there are any left after buying.

Like Becky, I believe the tickets for a place will disappear very fast after selling date opens.

I've been looking at the Alaska sea vogages with Tim but that air time for the flight & getting there scares me at this time in life. The East coast sea vogage OK but I grew up in that area and kind of know it like the back of my hand.
This UK Workshop would be a chance to be nearer home and one of my life time dreams.

Pat

PS as well as a chance to stock up on UK stamps for swaps on this forum.
vonny

let me know if you are coing Pat, as I live 30 mins from MK and am likley to be of thet week as it is half term I think.

Mickie

I would love to do the Alaska cruise with Tim and the gang.  However, like you Pat, the journey to Seattle from here would be an adventure in intself for me and the cost of just getting there, never mind the cruise.......................!

When you guys get to meet Tim next February see if you can get him to cruise around the British Isles, or better still, from a UK port to the Norwegian fjords.  That would be fantastic.

After all, he has already done Alaska, The Caribbean and South Afrika!

Just got off the ordering process áfor tim's workshop and finally after 46 mins got on the Friday 0800 class. The connection kept sending me back and forth and when at the final check-out believe it or not I had to wait again because I áhad forgotten password.

Jippi............

Now will decide how I'll do this,
If Hans doesen't come with me I thought I might fly in thurs ,taxi from Heathrow , stay at the Venues or the Revived Swan ( as last time and taxi back to airport the next day and home.

If Hans goes with me I'll be a week in UK.

Pat
Jojo79

Have tried to book a ticket - I have had a confirmation email but not sure if this is totally confirmed. I will just have to wait and see  Confused

I will keep you informed.

That sounds like good news then Pat. Yes I wanted to go on Thursday too. But kept crashing and just went with whatever I had in my basket.

I can't wait - I did think twice about the cost but decided that I would regret it if I did not try to book.

See you in Feb  Very Happy  Very Happy

Pat and Jo I am struggling not to go green eyed over your both being able to go to the Tim Holtz class.  However, I am somewhat reassured by Vonny saying that Leandra will likely have an article in Craft Stamper. Laughing

Mickie x
Jennie

Oh well done both of you  Very Happy Two from our little group - at least we'll be there in spirit with you.
Miriam

Well done Pat and Jo - I'm sure you will have a fab time - I live in hope that there will be another one!
Jojo79

Thanks can't quite believe that I managed to get a ticket. It is great that I have got a ticket for the same session as Pat, will be great to meet up.

not me Mickie, must be some other hopeful person!

Well done for Jo and Pat for getting places. We can all look forward to hearing all about it. Which day have you booked?

Vonny x
Miriam

I think Sophie mentioned Craftstamper - there is bound to be articles on blogs etc.
Sophie

Well done to those who got tickets - very jealous. I'm sure you'll have the best time.

I hope Tim does his Christmas tags again this year, they were fantastic. If he does, this time I'm going to try and make them along with him.
Mickie

I had that same thought last year Sophie.  I made three then ran out of time!  Will be having another go this year though, if, of course, he does them.  I think it is likely that he will as there's usually a new product or two Ranger will want to be selling.

I actually print off the 12 tag articles and keep them in a binder.  They make quite good reference books.

Mickie x
Jennie

Thats a good idea Mickie printing them off.

I did six last year, but I was away for a long weekend in the middle.  I look at them alot for inspiration.  I am certainly going to try and do them again this year, in fact have already ordered my large size tim tags ready.

Me too! I thought I was the only one and possibly slightly mad for doing it   Rolling Eyes

I did them on the "posh paper" and in colour and they are fantastic for inspiration when the old creative juices dry up.
vonny

I thought about it last year...and did none! good idea to print off tho then maybe I could adapt them and do one a month over the yearActually this would make a good swap/challenge wouldn't it

Vonny x
Jojo79

That is a good idea. I may go back and print of the last couple of years worth. I am away in December again this year so will print off.

Great idea for a challenge Vonny  Idea
Miriam

Fantastic idea - just wish my printer was working!
Beckyb

You lucky things I am jealous but its great that you are both on the same course will be able to meet up I am sure it will be a great day and can't wait to hear all about it.

       Becky x
Mickie

I think the T!m tags would be great for a challenge.

I don't have any T!m stamps so all the tags start as a challenge for me to find likely stamps in my collection!  Last year's lamp post had me flummoxed for a bit as my only lamp post stamp was probably a third of the size of his!  Still, it is all good fun Laughing

Mickie x
Beckyb

I can never seem to find Tim's tags what size are they sounds a good challenge though.

I got mine from Craft Obsessions.  They are alot bigger Becky than I've seen anywhere else.  Good quality too and don't buckle when you hit them with alot of paint, ink, etc.

I guess we got our Halloween Treat.
Two of the girls from local shop's crop nights are on the friday 1030 group.

They plan to go to Craft Barn on Saturday as they are in England until Sunday evening. Is it worth training out to the shop. I thought I might go when in London in the beginning of Dec.

See u 2 there in Feb.

And what you buy in the shop there  Laughing
craftytrog

I've been saving hard! Laughing Shame they won't have any vagabonds till march! was hoping to get one & save on postage!
Pat

Exchanged to ús at bank yesterday. Glad our visas are debit cards here in Norway. The card says stop shoping on it's own and no later bill in mail.

I've already put in an online ordered (paid) for pickup of regulars as I don't like picking one and one metal sheets. This is more relaxing shopping online. I have a class at the end of august so this will save postage and customs ( thinking like Alison).

Clothes washing and packing start today.

Pat
