Bind it All

Is there a simple explanation anywhere of how to make consecutive holes i.e so that the binding can go all the way down the page?

I don't seem to be able to gauge the distance between consecutive punchings and it can be such a waste of card/paper getting it wrong.   Embarassed

Here's the link to the bind it all video page Mickie - have a look a video 3 Lets Punch.  From memory I think it shows you how to do a long punch.

When I do a long punch I still start in the middle and then gradually work my way out to the end, then turn the page around and punch all the way out to the other end.  That way I don't have to work out where to start!  Hope this helps.

Mickie - I did a basic Bind-it-all course with My Creative Classroom which was very good.  I see that a more advanced Bind-it-all course is starting shortly - you can get details on the MCC website.  Margaret

Not been using mine much either Becky and it is taking up space on the worktop.

We use a comb binder at work which is fine but the binders are all in plastic that goes brittle after a while and at least the BIA binders are metal.

I did wonder if I wasn't being a bit impatient Rolling Eyes

I use mine all the time as I am making three/four books at the moment.  I also make my holiday journals before I go away.  Do persevere as it really is a good little machine.

Alot of my books are something by 4" as 4" just fits nicely in the machine.  But if you want anything bigger, just mark the centre and line that up with the centre arrows on the machine, punch, then move along and fit the hole but one (I think) in the little black "hooky" thing on the right hand side and punch again.  Keep punching until you reach almost the edge.  Then if you turn your pages around you can do the other side in exactly the same way.  Then you get your punches all the way along the side of the page.  Worth trying with a bit of paper and getting the hang of it.

Hope this helps  Very Happy

Jennie beat me to it - using the "hooky" thing and the end but one hole I think is the key to this.
The problem I have is getting the rings round. They tend to have a flat edge once closed. Any ideas?

Am reading this at work so will be investigating "hooky" thing over the weekend.  Don't recall actually seeing one but perhaps not looked in the right place Embarassed

Vonny I find if I push too hard with the lever I get a square edge (which I feel has its place in binding too).

Hope that helps
