love your take on this theme Becky. I recognise that little handbag charm - I got some from the Works when on holiday. the ones near where I live don't seem to have much craft stuff so was pleased to find some.  Smile
Mickie

Love your card Becky and your handbag charm - haven't seen any like it.  Will have to keep my eyes peeled.  Laughing

Lovely work Becky and Mickie.  Hope to attempt this when I get back.
vonny

well done Mickie- the first page is always the hardest. love the glossy handbags too.  Very Happy
Jennie

Great pages Mickie and Becky.  Well done Mickie for your first page in the book.  I agree with Vonny - it is difficult to get started.  I finished mine tonight.  I had an idea in my head, but it didn't really happen  Crying or Very sad My friend Catherine in America is doing an art journal reflection at the moment and as she says you have to just go with the rubbish sometime - all part of the learning process.  I may take a picture tomorrow.
Jennie

OK it is beginning to grow on me!  Lots of "bits" covering up the "bits" which I didn't like  Laughing

Nice work Jennie.  Must remember your trick of covering up bits - very effective.  I see you have collected some bottle tops too Laughing

Vonny this really was a good idea.

lovely page Jennie, glad you kept with it. Is that embossed acetate/packaging on the right?
Beckyb

Great work Mickie and Jennie did you make your own Journal or have you used a brought one.

Lovely page Jennie.
Mickie

Becky mine is a bought one and a similar size to Vonny's.  When closed it measures about three inches high by maybe one and a half inches wide.  I saw it and thought it looked really cute but never seemed to get to do anything with it, until Vonny issued the challenge Laughing

I did buy an A5 size book and hope to start that soon.  It will be interesting to see how bigger pages work out.

Jennie

Vonny - yes that is a bit of embossed plastic packaging.  I stamped "handbag" down the side in white paint with some old foam stamps but only some of the letters came out.  I decided that these journal pages too would be filled from my box of bits.

My book is HUGE in comparison  Laughing 8" x 8"  I am amazed how much you have on your pages Mickie and Vonny in such a small space.
vonny

It's all part of the attraction. the main problem that I have is that I feel I can't get too inky espcially with sprays as I may end up painting half the other pages. Would probably go for a looseleafed option if I decided to make a bigger version
Mickie

I put generously sized pieces of copy paper between the pages I am working on and the ones they back onto Vonny, that way I can spritz and slosh about as the fancy takes me.  I leave the copy paper insitu until my pages are dry.

vonny

I do try to do that but they do have a tendency to slip around a bit. At the moment I am using every other page and this seems to work well - my little book is very fat so still plenty of space  Smile
Jennie

I put a craft mat between my pages - a big one  Laughing
Beckyb

Sorry I am being thick here are your pages lined or plain ,do you attach your work to the page in book.

   Becky x
Mickie

My pages are plain Becky, but I don't think it matters too much really as by the time you have gessoed, coloured, painted, swooshed and spritzed I should think any lines would be long gone.  I think it might be much easier to use a ring bound book as the pages would lay flat.  My book is stitched and it is quite difficult to get the pages to stay open whilst working on them.

Jennie, I love the idea of using a craft mat between the pages.  That really would prevent any impressions getting through as well.  Shall bear that in mind for future journals.  Yes, I think I am hooked Laughing

I shall be doing every other page too Vonny.  I went through the book and found that on this basis the twelve decorated pages etc of this challenge will get me to almost the middle of my book Wink
