Very Happy  Very Happy

I know what you mean
Jennie

I have really enjoyed my little techniques book with Donna Salazar, so will probably do the same again.  Nice to have some books for inspiration, but with a note on the back page of what you did.  Memory not what it was ........

Er what are we doing next ....
vonny

Laughing
Mickie

Will make a lovely change from making cards.

Sounds like you are all going to come up with some creative ideas for this techinque!
Jennie

Mickie

I have made Compo's matchbox - just need to make the leaves and beetles now!

The Peeled Paint Challenge

As I had the paints out doing other things I thought I would start this.  Here is my page:

I wished I had used different colours!  But I was looking for a strong background colour and most of my acrylics were a bit wishy washy.  I let the peach paint dry overnight, but I found by morning it had dried very hard and so it was difficult to get off.  It didn't excactly "wipe off".  I think I will have another go at this with some different colours.  Perhaps something a bit softer.  I can't say it will be something I'll be doing over and over though.
Pat

Fab and colours are ones I like.
Pat
Beckyb

Thats good Jennie I must have another go.Is the swirl a die cut

Becky x
Mickie

I like the colours you used Jennie.  I have completed my page too but need to wait for daylight to photograph it.

Mickie x
Beckyb

Mine went very wrong last night so will try again  Laughing or I might try and rescue the one in the bin.

Jennie

Glad you liked the colours - perhaps I should like them a bit better too!

Becky the flourish is from the Tim Holtz flourish die cut.  I use so many of them I decided to get the die and have used it alot already.  There are two flourishes on the die and you can cut them about abit to get smaller ones too.
Mickie

Think I might invest in a flourish die.  Where did you get yours from Jennie?

Mickie x
Beckyb

Thanks Jennie I thought it was more money to spend out  Laughing Tim has alot to answer for  Laughing

Mickie - I've been getting my Tim Holtz stuff from Craft Obsessions.  I've been buying from them ever since they first set up three/four years ago.  They have a really fast turn round of stock and are always restocking, so all the new stuff is there.  They also post out VERy quickly - even I get the parcel in a couple of days.
vonny

The page looks great Jennie and well done for being the first when you got the mag last  Laughing
Just to say this doesn't have to be a page, it can be anything using the technique.
Mine as usual is in my head!
Mickie

Craft Obsessions it is then Laughing  I do like a fast delivery Laughing  Laughing

Thank you Jennie

Vonny my pages are something like 6"x7".  Think it would be good to get a techniques book going as it is something I have had in mind for a long long time now Laughing

Mickie x
Jennie

I'm doing 6" x 4" and another techniques book as I've been doing with Donna.  I'll BIA them when I get a few done.  Always handy to have a reference.

Jennie

They are both great!  Actually seeing yours as well I think I might have another go sometime.

Time and Tide stamp Becky - where did you get that?  I use the saying all the time.
Jojo79

Great pages everyone. I will have a go at this sometime.
Mickie

Think I will  be using this more often - it is so versatile.

It is a nice page Becky - good effect for time flying.  Love it Laughing

Great pages Becky and Mickie. i have got as far asdoing an A4 sheet and may do a page and some ATCs. i agree a book of techiques is a great idea but wnated people to feel that they could use the technique in the challenge however they wanted, as not every one will fancy a book.
i put cream on the bottom then added my second colour. Whcih way round did you all do it?
Next time i will use a brush to add the Vaseline.
Had no trouble getting it off.
Beckyb

The stamps Jennie are Paper Artsy.

I have written on the back of my page and put in a box so I have a reference box of techniques.

I have been thinking about this and am going to make a pure techniques book. this means i will not add images or embellishemnts, just have a page showing the technique, if this makes sense. Will add my page to the gallery soon, but aim to make a couple of ATCs with the peeled paint background and will post them at the same time
Mickie

Look forward to seeing your ATCs Vonny.

Now that was a good idea Vonny and they are charming ATCs.

Must try this technique tonight.

Jennie

Lovely ATCs Vonny.  I never seem to make just ATCs they always seem to be for a swap - mental note to self "do some just for fun!"
Miriam

Will have to crack on with this technique.  I love your creations so far - they are  fabulous!

I already have a technique book - I hjave been workingthrough Tim's new book and trying everything out for myself.  I started it when I was off work with my back earlier in the year.
Beckyb

Love the atc's vonny and the page I had'nt thought of putting the darker colour on top.

I always have atc's made they make lovely toppers if you get stuck or have to make a quick card.

Mickie

Lovely ATCs Vonny.

I'm like Jennie, never seem to do ATCs except for a swap. Rolling Eyes

Mickie x
vonny

these will be used as swaps. either in the book I take to craft shows to swap in person, or for use with UKSN, where books containing ATCs are swopped (Mickie is a member of this too!).
I do find ATCs are a good way to try techniques and to use up card etc.
