On-Line Class with Glenda Waterworth

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but here goes anyway.

Glenda Waterworth is doing a couple of classes on http://www.mycreativeclassroom.com/course/category.php?id=18
The first class is Basic Rubber Stamping which starts now and the second is called Terrific Techniques.  Both classes are over five weeks and cost $30US

This is the company I'm registered with and doing the Donna Salazar course at the moment.  Highly recommend them!
Miriam

Thanks for the links and recommendations.  I wish I had more time right now to join in!
Beckyb

Thanks for the link will go and look into it.

After your lovely books I thought I might do an online course Jennie and when Glenda announced she was doing one I decided I would enroll and see how it goes.

Really looking forward to it, but for some reason I am also a little nervous Confused

Mickie x
Jennie

Some students don't take part in the forum or gallery.  On the Donna S course there are 17 of us, but only three of us have posted our first pages.  Don't be nervous!  It really is great and of course you get the chance to keep trying things and then only post the one's that come out well!!  Tutors are also online at some point every day to answer questions.

At least with Glenda's course there is a chance that we have the supplies.

I've also enrolled for a four week course Wire Paint and Paper - soooo looking forward to that one!
Mickie

Thanks for that Jennie, I think I will enjoy the course and as you say, we should be able to get the supplies we don't already have easily enough.

I quite like the fact that we can do each lesson in our own time too, so there's no pressure.

Like the sound of Wire, Paint and Paper.  Will you be blogging your work?

Mickie x
Jennie

Yes I'll put it on the blog.  More room there to explain what I've done.  I do the blog mainly for my two aunts who have done crafts all their lives, but finding it more difficult now being in their 80s.  It means they can see what I've been doing.  But lovely to share it with others too.
Mickie

I think it is fantastic that your aunts access the internet!  I cannot get my mum beyond the point of her expecting the computer to bite her it she touches it Rolling Eyes

They use Skype and email and now they want a family link up on Facebook!

That is great Jennie. My grandparents aged 86 and have in the last few years started to use a computer and are using skype and email.
Beckyb

I have signed up for the course as well Mickie.

I signed up for Glenda's course a while ago, really looking forward to it.  I really love her stuff, just hoping I don't have to buy too much stuff to be able to take part.  Never done an online course before, so it'll be interesting to see how it all runs.

Jen

Ooh good, yes I am Becky  Very Happy   Although I work Weds, Thurs & Fri evenings so I'll have to log on at another time to do the course, but I'm presuming that's the point, you can do it when time allows?

Jen

Hi Mickie

Many thanks for offering to email me the list but I thought I'd better log in to MCC just to make sure it's works ok still (just as well as I'd forgotten my password  Very Happy ) and found the supply list.

Had to buy some stampbord and UTEE.  Not sure about the foliage stamps, I've got a few but not sure if they'll be any good.  Think I'll leave that until I see what Glenda does.

Shame I can't log in on Thursday to join you all, but looking forward to seeing all your work.  It'll be great fun, I'm sure  Smile

I had mild hysterics to discover my Versamark pen has just about dried out Crying or Very sad  Then I learned that they have stopped making them.   Crying or Very sad  Crying or Very sad

BUT there is a bright side.  I have a Versamark reinker and will endeavour to use it like an inkwell Laughing

Mine have been pretty good - always around 3pm in the afternoon, although I'm always sneaking a look from about 2 pm  Laughing

Hope you get to start soon - it must be very frustrating.
Beckyb

The first week seems abit basic although there is a couple of techniques I have'nt tried but am going to have a play today.

  Becky x
Mickie

Been in the classroom and I agree Becky, so far a bit basic but probably good to start with something we know.  Am hoping to get time to create some examples this afternoon once I have gessoed my boxes Laughing

I don't appear to have any silhouette stamps larger than just over an inch, so will have to be a bit creative!

This is my 1st attempt at Jacobs Coat Technique. You colour some glossy card in different colours the stamp using versamark and clear embossing powder then go over whole thing with a dark colour I used a brayer to do this. The rub over with kitchen roll.

Nice work Becky.  I have been embossing and resisting all afternoon and had a really good time.   What a change it has been from spending all my time making swaps. Laughing  Very Happy

Now I will have to buckle down and do some birthday cards, have six birthdays in November.  That is without the Halloween cards I have to do.  Happily only three of these and two of them for younger members of the family. Laughing

Will post photos of my resisting efforts tomorrow if my Pc holds up, or otherwise Monday.

Mickie x
vonny

looking good Becky. Often there are techniques that you know about and have either forgotten or never tried so refreshers are always good  Smile
Miriam

Great work Becky Smile
Jennie

Lovely work Becky.  The resist techniques are the most popular in the workshops I do - loads of OOOOs and AAAAARHs  Smile
