Yahoooooo - he's doing them, starting 1 December  Very Happy   Very Happy  Very Happy   Go onto his blog and watch the movie!
Jojo79

Just seen it before I came over here . I will have to have a look after I get back from holiday. Very Happy  Very Happy
Miriam

I love his mini movie!  I am quite excited about his tags - unfortunately I never get time to do them though as work gets very busy - I love looking at his creations though
Beckyb

Thats great will go and have a look.

  Becky x
Mickie

Brilliant - thanks for letting us know Jennie

Mickie x
vonny

Are we going to do a challenge in the new year based on these tags, like we talked about? It would work out one tag per month using his techniques and stamps as loose guidance only  Laughing
Want do you all think?
Jennie

Sounds good.  I must have missed the original discussion Embarassed

It would be interesting to take the Christmas techniques and put them into non-christmassy settings.  Sounds nonsense, but you know what I mean  Laughing
craftytrog

Can't wait! And the new year challenge sounds a great idea! Very Happy
Beckyb

I am in is it going to be along side the tags swap we have now.

       Becky x
vonny

I was thinking of a challenge rather than a swap, we would get to keep our own work but use the techiques etc.Is that what people want?
craftytrog

I'd prefer a challenge Vonny
Mickie

Challenge or swap?  I'm in either way so just let me know the final decision and when to start Laughing

Mickie x
Beckyb

That sounds ok I am in.

  Becky x
Jennie

I think a challenge would be great rather than a swap, then we can still keep the tag swaps going as well.

We'll have to keep a note of all these challenges!  We won't have any time to do anything else!
Miriam

I'm up for this.  I already have to keep a notebook with what swaps / challenges I have to do - oitherwise I would never keep up!!! Very Happy
Mickie

Yes, Miriam - I have to keep a notebook too.  Not that it means I can keep up though Laughing

Mickie x
Beckyb

I have a book too  Laughing Just been and seen the 1st tag as usual it is lovely but have to now find something I can adapt but I will try.

     Becky x
Jennie

Well all my bits are drying!  How he expects us all to keep up when things take about 12 hours to dry ........

I used a Craft Individuals house which I embossed using a side on folder which has grasses (and a bird) on it.  I didn't have a picket fence so I just drew one on grungepaper - very rustic!  Oh and my tree is made from paper string.  All this sounds very Blue Peter!!!!  I will have to leave it all tonight and stick it together tomorrow morning.

Fairy Godmother going on stage tonight with red inky fingers  Laughing  Laughing  Laughing
vonny

Sounds great Jennie, and very creative! I haven't been to see yet, my next stop!
Mickie

I printed off today's tag and stuffed the pages into an envelope to bring home...............then I posted it along with the rest of the mail Embarassed

Will try harder Laughing

Mickie x
Beckyb

Laughing  Laughing thats the sort of thing I would do.

Jennie - wow. so far so good.

Day 3 - I really enjoyed this one - details of what I used are on my blog.  Again none of Tim's bits and pieces, so lots of improvisation.

Day 4 and wasn't too sure what to do for this one, so went a bit pink ... well very pink really!  I loved this technique on the fragment, but the instruction was to dab the ink off not to rub, but I couldn't get it off without a good rub and polish and it seemed to work.  I am really enjoying a tag a day - really getting into the swing of it now.

Looking forward to seeing your No. 4 Becky and Alison:

vonny

great version Jennie, you are so clever at adapting your stash to make his tags  Smile
Jennie

Thanks for the kind comments.  I thought I had most of the pieces for today's tag, but no ........ so I had to make a few bits and do things different (details are on my blog) but I really like this one:

I love the tags Jennie
Jennie

Tag No. 7 - boy was this fiddly!  If you want to see how I made the flower details are on my blog.  Again I didn't have much of the right stuff, so alot of head scratching before coming up with some ideas:

I thought this was the best tag TH has come up with this year (so far).

I thought this one look so time consuming to make - something like 54 steps! But you have made a great job of it and also the day 6 one, which is pretty much like Tim's one. Loved his technique of stamping in the embossing folder then embossing! It's on video on day 6 if you haven't seen it
Beckyb

Well done Jennie they are great I am running abit behind but hope to catch up in the next few days.

Mickie

Jennie, they just keep getting better and better.  This is beautiful.  Will pop onto your blog and see how you did the flower. Laughing

Becky, I love  your tags too!  Your latest one is fabulous. Laughing

One day, Vonny, we shall have the time to take part in the event as it happens.........................................should we still have the energy that is Laughing  Laughing

Mickie x
Jennie

Becky your tag 5 is gorgeous!
Jennie

This is NOT my favourite tag.  The only thing I had was the flourish stamp, so it was a bit of a Blue Peter effort with having to handraw and cut out the santa, reindeer, houses and the clockface!

The technique of double masking looks very good and although I have a couple of masks, they just weren't suitable for a Christmassy theme, but at least I'll be able to have another go at this (in August  Laughing )

All i can say is thank goodness you were a Blue Peter fan Jennie.  Your tag is lovely Laughing

Wonder what is in store for tomorrow Question

Jennie

Becky your tag 6 is great!

Here's my one for today - tag 9.  I thought it might be reasonably quick  Laughing but no .... I did have the rosette die though.  I love the colours (Wild Honey and Brushed Corduroy) and you can't see it in the photo but my rosette actually shines gold!

Only three more to go !

Jennie and Becky they are all lovely and you are doing so well to keep up!
When I saw the rosette one today on Tims site I just said "wow"

Tag No. 10 - difficult to photograph to do it justice.  Really good technique re the plastic packaging.

I really liked the look of this tag when I saw Tim's this morning and I think you have done a really good job here Jennie.  Laughing

I have used bits of packaging but will be looking out for it now Laughing
Jennie

Day 11 Tag - and I'm way off the original with this one.  I didn't have any of the right things, so just went with my own ideas.  I did do the resist stamping through.

day 11 has a real wedding feel. Love them all but only one mor to go  Crying or Very sad
It's getting harder to pick out different things for the challenges. If anyone wants to amend, feel free!
Miriam

Lovely work again ladies
Mickie

Hear!  Hear!   Lovely work Laughing  Am looking forward very much to what you come up with for the last two tags.  Wink

Tim's Day 11 and Day 12 Tags are a bit, dare I say it?  Ordinary; they seem to be an outright sales pitch.

I know all his tags are really to advertise his wares and get us to open our purses (if the products are available in UK) but the sales pitch is usually heavily disguised by the techniques he uses.   Smile

Nevertheless, I remain a fan Laughing

Not sure what happened but I could only upload 2 tags so did it in 2 messages. The last 3 I just have to put together.

I know what you mean Mickie but at least I had the die for the last one  Laughing

Jennie

Becky all three tags are gorgeous.  You must be really pleased with them.

This is my final tag:

Click to see full size image

It took me three goes to get the bauble covered in something reasonable!  Details are on my blog.

Like you Mickie, although I have liked the last three tags, I thought they were a bit ordinary, especially the final tag.  I thought he was building us with with easier tags 10 and 11 for a final WOW! on Tag 12.  So I was a little disappointed, although having said that I enjoyed doing no. 12.

Have to get back to doing ordinary things each day now, like the ironing and hoovering - but its been GREAT  Very Happy

Your tags are lovely Jennie.

Jennie and Becky, I am just so impressed that you had a go at all 12 and were just so creative with taking his ideas and interpreting them. thanks for sharing them with us. hopefully you will take part in the challenges. i have tried to pick features from each tag and avoid being specific about dies or techniques which need a lot of specialist equipment. hopefully we will come up with some very creative things over the year.
Anyway off to post the challenge for December....2012  ANOTHER YEAR GONE  Laughing  Laughing
Miriam

Jennie and Becky, your tags have been wonderful.  Thank you for sharing them with us.  Oh to have teh time - will make the time for teh monthly challenges though - again, thank you to Vonny for organinsing this one.

Another year of fantastic inspiration from Sir Tim!!!
Jennie

I think the monthly challenges will be great.  I really don't have an awful lot of Christmassy stuff, so it will be nice to do these techniques but using different themes and some of my many stamps and papers.  I may not do tags, as I think I would like to do a little book.

Do remember that half the fun of doing this is to try and come up with something out of your own stash or materials.  Once you actually start looking and thinking more laterally its amazing what ideas you can come up with.  Also don't be scared of drawing simple shapes on grungepaper instead of the ides - I have found it works very well (and I am really not good at drawing!).  I draw a grid on paper and then work within the squares.  Its amazing what you can come up with.

I would love to put my tags into "something" but haven't come up with an idea yet.  Probably I'll make a large box!

I AM VERY LUCKY to have the time to do this and I give thanks each day for that.  However, there is a horrendous pile of ironing in the spare room and the hoover nearly gave out just doing the downstairs this morning  Embarassed but I did get all the Christmas cards and presents off to the Post Office today  Smile
Mickie

Jennie I think you should feel quite virtuous now that you have caught up with the domestic chores as well as completing the tags. Laughing

I am quite inspired by your tags Jennie and Becky.  Oh, and Alison.  Have been following her's too on her blog. Laughing

Really looking forward to taking part in the tag challenge and thank you to Vonny for setting it all up. Laughing

Mickie x
Beckyb

I will be joining in the tags challenges it will be nice to have abit more time to think about them and have fun.I have enjoyed doing Tim's and it is good to have done them all better than last year.

   Becky x
vonny

Jennie, if you are lucky the hoover will break down and you will have more crafting time!

Glad you are looking forward to the tag challenge throughout 2011. I was thinking of doing a small book too Jennie, perhaps 4x4.
Jennie

Just thought you might like to know that Tim's tags are quite large - 61/4" x 3".

The first year I tried to do the tags I used my normal ones and they were far too small to try and get everything he does on them.  It is alot easier if you give yourself plenty of room.

I thought I might make my book 61/2" x 31/2" and bind them at the top so they are still sort of "tag like".
Miriam

Fab idea Jennie
vonny

Thanks for the advice Jennie. Will think about it over Xmas.I have left the challenges pretty open so it will not be neccessary to get on as much as he does  Smile (I hope!)
