W12/Y7

Morning all it is very wet and windy here so glad I am indoors although I had my PIP assessment at 8 this morning so now it is wait till I hear. We then did our shopping and got home just before the rain started . Think I might get my paints out and have a play.
Rusticus

That wasn't a civilised time for assessments Becky!

The rain started overnight here in Cornwall and did it ever rain?! I had to take Lucy for her walk as she wouldn't be persuaded that it was dreadful out there and some rotten person drenched us both by driving along the rain filled gutter. Not at all pleasant. Our walk didn't last long at all. The weather now seems to be improving in that some blue sky is showing and the rain is slowing down.
I baked cheese scones and chocolate fudge cake this morning as the weather was so miserable.

Ooh please can I come round Lynn? I'll bring my waterproofs  Laughing
vonny

love the sound of the baking Lynn -warms the house up too. Had to laugh at your dog tearing up a birthday card in protest!
Jennie sounds like you got some good shots. We haven't had gales here but it was wet this morning -very noisy on the roof of the hall where we do line dancing!
hope you had a nice painty session Becky
Beckyb

Chocolate fudge cake sounds lovely Lynn as do the scones but I would have fruit or plain don't eat cheese. Today I am off to have a blood test and the crafting with friends which will be fun. The rain seems to have stopped but golly gosh it is cold. Yes Vonny I did get to play but it ended up as a birthday card using inks  Very Happy

The rain has not stopped  Sad

Nor has the wind - I can't quite make out if it is Angus still, or a close relative of his........   Shouldn't complain, it is the season for cold, wet and windy weather.  The one think I do like about the wind is that it blows all the leaves away - I know not where to - but it does mean I don't have to collect them all up and dispose of them to the garden waste tip.   Wink

What a horrible time for a hospital appointment Becky - hope all goes well

Bet you got some good photos Jennie.  Sounds like the Panto is going well too.

Not sure about the baking.  I can feel my hips increasing as I think about it, not to mention the cheese.......................and the chocolate.  Yum!

Be good if the rain was in time to the Zumba rhythms Vonny

I'm at home today, which is just as well as I have a book commission to price and one to finish.  Also have a book I started with Kathy Byrne to decorate.

Then there's the Christmas cards.  The photo paper arrived an hour ago!  Woohoo!  What fun!  Wish I'd been more organised and got the paintings done earlier then I could have gone to the printers instead of doing it myself.  Oh well, there's always next year Wink
Rusticus

Rukhshana you need to get down here fast as there is only one scone left Smile  Lots of cake though! Yes Mickie that is the problem with baked goodies - they go straight on the hips. Do envy these slim people who can eat whatever they like. I see food and have gained several pounds Confused

Lots more rain down here again today and wind which is raw. Last Saturday was horrendous and the storm went on all day and got progressively worse through the night but Sunday was heavenly. Blue skies, hardly any wind, sunshine - it was delightful. The sea was heaving and there were huge waves, so many people were out and about taking photos of the waves. There were even a few brave souls surfing  Shocked
vonny

no rain here today and managed to walk to the library for knit and natter. Met someone I had seen for over a year so it was nice to catch up briefly.
then to stitching group in the afternoon -it was really peaceful as a few clients were not in. Had a bit of a problem as one lady's Xmas cross stitch is too big for any of my window cards. Luckily one of the support staff is into crafts and she is going to see if she can make a card or even find a frame
vonny

finished Xmas tree decorations with my group today (some beads had smaller holes than I remembered) and made a Xmas card each so lots of glitter everywhere.
Plan to quilt tomorrow
Beckyb

Morning all it is lovely and sunny here but so cold glad I am staying in sure I will find something to do. It is always nice to bump into a old friend Vonny while out trouble is you don't have the time to really catch up properly which is a shame. Hope everyone stays safe and warm I know I intend too  Laughing .
Mickie

Beautiful day here so far.  Am at home today so will be doing my ATCs at long last.  Plus another few catchy uppy things like my Advent calendar that I started in Inky Fingers a couple of months ago Rolling Eyes

Struggling a bit to get into the Christmas mode - I'm too busy being one of the elves - I guess they must do it all year round.   Wink

Have a good everyone
vonny

lovely morning so quilting went on hold while I went for a walk -the sun was blinding at times. did get to the quilting later  Smile
Jennie

Surfaced today from panto - that's me been involved every day since last Sunday ....... I had a lovely morning shopping at Tescos and then a little bit of crafting in the afternoon.

It's Shetland Scrapbookers tomorrow and we are working with our "lucky dips" from the last meeting - a bag of cardstock, papers stock and embellishments. Should be fun!

Weather - awful .....

Sorry I've not been around much recently. I was in Iceland last week for Iceland Noir - a celebration of Nordic crime writing. I had a great time - loved Iceland and found out about a lot of new authors.

Came home to find the offer for our house has been withdrawn so it's back on the market! And I'm trying to write a 3000 word essay for my Viking course. Don't think there will be much crafting done before Xmas.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone.

You are really not having much luck with your house Margaret I thought  you were more protected in Scotland when it comes to buying and selling your house. x
margaret rorie

I thought so too but things have changed over the last few years due to banks tightening up on loans and mortgages.
vonny

sorry to hear about your house Margaret -very frustrating. the Iceland trip sounds great tho  Smile
Mickie

Sorry to hear about your house Margaret - I shall know what to say to people now when they say that the Scottish system is so good.  Wish you all the best for 2017 should you be trying again then.

Iceland trip sounded great - I've only read one Icelandic noir and it was dreary and drawn out which put me off BUT saw a five part drama set in Iceland earlier in the year and it was fabulous.  Maybe I should try again..........
margaret rorie

I really like Arnaldur idridson who is an Icelandic author - his novels usually contain 2 stories - one a current police investigation and the other is into an old missing case.

Iceland was fantastic - would love to go in the summer. There are now flights from Aberdeen which makes it easy for us up here.
Mickie

Thanks for that Margaret - will give him a go.  Sounds like my kind of book!
