I was up at the Craft Barn again at the weekend for the last of this year's Mini Book Club.  I put the structure together for five different Miniature Books and will post piccies once I have decorated them.  The Miniature books took just as long to put together as the Mini book surprisingly.  However, a good day was had by everyone.  Next year we will be the Reunion Club and meet every other month to make more and more complicated Mini Books - really looking forward to the January one - fingers crossed for no bad weather on the day!

Find I have a Christmas lunch tomorrow and my last Christmas dinner on Wednesday.  That is till next week.  In the meantime I shall be living on tinned soup Rolling Eyes

Enjoy your shopping tomorrow Becky

Getting ready today to get the boat this afternoon down to Orkney for the holidays. The wind seems to have gone down so here's hoping we have a fine trip. I do have Internet access in Orkney now so I will be able to keep in touch. Have packed some crafty stuff so I won't get withdrawal symptoms.

Your workshops sound great Mickie - I love mini books.

Hope you got some nice goodies at the Stamp Attic Becky and that you enjoyed the concert Vonny. Should put you in the mood for Xmas!
Jennie

Just popping in to say hi! Had a bad time of it in the stormy weather, losing TV and Phone last week and then we did manage to get away on the ferry to see the grandchildren - a day late, but then couldn't get back on the Sunday as the ferry was cancelled. We managed to get rebooked on the Monday night boat but that was delayed until 3am in the morning, so we spent all yesterday on the boat in VERY lumpy seas. I was ok and managed to do some knitting and reading in the lounge (very few people around despite a packed boat) but now trying to catch up with everything! I hope you have a good trip tonight Margaret.
Miriam

Hi all,

I apologise for my absence - yet again!!  I've had so much going on - and still do.... hope to be back to normal next year!!  I will catch up with all of your goings on over the next week or so.
margaret rorie

Lovely to hear from you Miriam. Hope we'll see more of you next year. Margaret
Mickie

Good to hear from you Miriam, do hope you can join us again next year - you have been missed Wink

Hope your crossing went well Margaret and wasn't too lumpy.

Speaking of which Jennie, I should have been green about the gills had I been on the boat!  Definitely would not have been calmly sitting there knitting Laughing A quick channel crossing I can manage but not a whole day of it.  Hope that is the worst of the storms you will experience this winter.

How did the shopping go Becky?

Boat trip was fine - a bit bumpy off the south of Shetland but it's always rough there. We got in a little early which was fine. Like Jennie I did some knitting - I'm determined to finish the cushion cover I started ages ago. Must go and unload the car and do some visiting. Margaret

All that sea crossing -not sure i could cope with living on a small island!
I'm sure Keoth will have got you some great stuff Becky -we will all look forward to seeing it!.

Went to a party with my group that I volunteer with and had a great time -they have no worries about their dancing but just get on and have a good time. I now have very achy legs after dancing a lot as well as walking there and back (about 3 miles!) At least I decided not to go swimming first!
Quiet day sitting down at craft group tomorrow with a bring a plate lunch to share. so will enjoy the rest!!

It is hard to believe isn't it Becky?  I have just finished hand delivering local cards - it was lovely driving round in the beautiful sunshine, such a change from the high winds and greyness of yesterday!  I think all I need to do now is have a quick tidy up, dust and polish, then run the vacuum round and I will be ready to go.  Yes, ok, I have to pack too but will do that on Sunday Laughing

Getting excited now Laughing

Hope you have a lovely holiday, Mickie.

Have a lovely time away Mickie x

Great to hear about all the lovely parties. You do seem to have some great friends Vonny! We were at a music session last night - 3 hrs of music with soup and bannocks at half time. My hands hurt from playing the bodhran this morning but it was fabulous - shetland at its best.

It is still windy here and we are getting the odd strike of lightning but the broadband, phone and tv seem to be holding together - if they go now that will be it until after the New Year! Apparently Shetland had more than 2000 strikes of lightning last week - busy time for the hydro and BT.

enjoy the rest of the weekend x

PS meant to say lovely to hear from you Miriam x
vonny

what are bannocks Jennie? sounds like a good evening  Very Happy

did a little crafting today after a very blowy walk in the morning. then made my 3rd lot of mince pies -they will have to last until Xmas now as all mincemeat used up  Smile
Mickie

Popped quickly on to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, just in case I don't get another chance.

It is quite windy out and wet - hope the flight won't be too bumpy.  I am definitely a better sailor than a flyer so please think of the poor person sitting next to me and wish them all the luck Laughing
