W2/Y5

It has been a lovely day here and we are hoping it will last the week at least.

I had some great news this morning - there was a cancellation on an Andy Skinner class at the end of the month and I was offered it!  Yayyy!

Hope you all had a good weekend

That was great news, Mickie. Nice to have some crafty event to look forward to.

It's been quite a nice day here today - dull but still warm for the time of year. I've got the cases packed so just got some last minute things to organise like changing handbags and making sure we have all the important things like passports! Our flight tomorrow to Glasgow leaves mid morning so at least we don't have too early a start. Margaret

Lucky you Mickie you will love it.
Enjoy your time away Margaret and congrats on winning a prize and being showcased.
Having my eyes tested this afternoon and that is it for today.

Beautiful day, in fact it is a bit of a scorcher!  So nice to still be able to pop out without even a cardi on.

Had hairdressing today and realised that I only get to go twice more and it's Christmas!  How time does fly.

Speaking of flying; have a lovely time Margaret.

Becky I expect you will have had your eye test by now.  Hope it all went according to plan.  I have mine in a couple of week and am steeling myself for needing new specs!

good news re Andy mickie -you are certainly doing lots of workshops now.

I made ATCs this afternoon after coming back from Devon - good to go away but lovely to get home too!
Mickie

Think I feel a song coming on Vonny - ....it's so nice to go travelling.....  Know what you mean though - there's no home like your own home.

So looking forward to the workshop though they are getting pricey now.  Still Andy's are always good

I am the same love going away but it is always nice to be back home where you can sit and craft  Laughing
Overcast here today have a friend coming in and the craft club tonight.

We have thunder, lightening and lots of rain at the mo

Don't like the sound of that weather Becky - I hope it goes up country from you and not along the Channel.  (I think I must be a NIMBY) Laughing

Went out for a meal with a friend last night to my favourite Italian restaurant.  It was lovely and made a nice change.

Am going to spend today making birthday cards

Enjoy your day everyone

wow Becky -we had fog all morning then it cleared up and got up to about 24 degrees. Very little wind too
Did some stamping with my group of adults with learning disabilities this afternoon -most managed well but a couple did stamp with the ink pad not the stamp. However they all finished with a card that they liked so it was fine. Doing heat embossing next week!
Beckyb

Glad your group had fun stamping and they all went home happy how many do you have Vonny.
Did you get the thunder and lightening Mickie I love it the louder the better.
Well have nothing planned for this weekend so am going with the flow hope you get a bit messy.

No thunder and lightening Becky.  I love a good storm too! it just gets muggier and muggier as the day goes on and the nights!  Well, I could be forgiven for imagining I was at a funny age again Laughing  I just think storms should happen when we are all home and not when I have to be out and about, hence the NIMBY label  Laughing

Vonny I expect the heat embossing will be a lot of fun with some very good results.  I have just played with some ep and an ink pad - no stamps -  gosh! some very good effects to be had.

Had Book (making) Club at The Craft Barn today.  Seems ages since the last one so really nice to catch up with everyone and we made a really useful item.  Will post a pic.

Becky the number in the group varies -generally 12-14 and 2 helpers if I am lucky -much harder work than paid employment was! but no paperwork!!
Had a talk on tudor dyeing yesterday -very interesting -did you know that urine was a very important commodity at this time? Mike is doing a follow up dyeing workshop today -i have stayed at home and done synthetic dyeing instead!
Now got to sort stuff for a craft session with friends tomorrow
Beckyb

Gosh Vonny that is quite a few it sounds fun though.
I guess urine does have it's uses  Laughing I know it comes in handy if you get stung by a jellyfish.

Vonny This urine thing could turn into quite a debate - I thought you were supposed to soak your chilblains in urine to make them go away Laughing  Good to know about the remedy for jelly fish stings though Becky

Mickie x
vonny

yes the jelly fish stings were mentioned. At least it is a cure you always have to hand as it were!
Jennie

Yes Vonny urine here in Shetland plays a huge part in the dyeing process! I too prefer the synthetic process myself  Laughing

Carrying on the urine debate, Terry reminded me that it is  called  Shetland Soda here  Laughing
Mickie

Will have to try to remember that one!  Think the phrase "Just going for a soda"  could catch on - much nicer than the usual information people provide
