W22/Y5

Morning all this year is going to quick already. Will try to be good this week and post not sure what happened .Have the dentist later and have to drop some things off to a friend. Hope you are all staying safe and warm weather don't look too bad outside but it is very cold.

Morning Becky, hope all goes ok at the dentist.  You are right, it is cold out there and I've had to angle the blind so the sun (very bright) doesn't shine on my screen.  Going shopping and then catching up with the final episode of Last Tango in Halifax.
Jennie

It is a lovely day here - very cold and crisp with snow on the ground, but blue skies and sunshine. We brought a new boat home today - couldn't have wished for a better day with no wind and she skidded into the shelter very nicely on the snow!

The dentist is not one of my favourite places Becky  Crying or Very sad
vonny

we all pop out for groceries and you pop out for a boat Jennie  Laughing bet you didn't carry it home with you! does this mean you have 2 now or did you trade the other one in?

Mickie you are sounding seriously chilled  Smile

Crafted with friends this afternoon and made some Atcs and one card -got there late as the road i was on was closed so I had to go all the way back then another route -did get there in the end tho
Miriam

Evening all.... can't believe it's February!!

I can't wait for the weekend so that I can do more crafting!!

Work is busy at the moment and so I may be popping in and out all week.... have a good week all xx
Beckyb

Saw the boat pic's on facebook are you going to have a boat each to go sailing in  Laughing . We have snow not a lot but am staying in so not bothered.Got to have a couple of crowns so have a few visits to the dentist on the cards.

Saw your boat Jennie - is this the start of the family fleet? Laughing

Will try to get my ATCs done and then have a play in my journal with my new stamps.  Speaking of new, have you seen the new Distress ink colour?  If I've understood it right, there will be a new colour every month this year.  I have only seen the January issue; Cracked Pistachio.

Have a good day everyone and keep warm whatever you are doing.
margaret rorie

I do like the new distress colour but think it's difficult to get hold of. Think I read somewhere that there will be a new colour each month issued in all the formats eg ink, paint, distress stain etc

Our snow is going today leaving a slushy mess. I've been out for coffee with a friend but home now and thinking I might do the ironing while watching Barbara Gray which I'd taped from Create and Craft. Hope you're all well. Margaret
Jennie

Well it is rather snowy here in Tingwall - about 6/8 inches this morning and not really thawed all day. Blizzards every now again - thank heavens we got the boat here yesterday. Yes it is a second boat Vonny - a 1954 classic built in Norway, just a light day sailor for the harbour, not like Mrs Muir. It needed a home as the person who bought it found out he couldn't do the work, then left Shetland. So for a nominal sum we are now the owners! A huge project for Terry but he will enjoy it - it will probably take two/three years.

Yes the new Distress colours are coming out one by one each month. My Pistachio Distress Ink pad is on its way, but Susan at Countryview Crafts has found that her orders from America are taking ages to be sent and when they get here only the Ink pad are there and nothing else! Very frustrating for her. It looks a lovely colour - I would like it in the spray though as well as I use the sprays quite a lot. I have also ordered the new Tim Holtz flower stamps - he has gone quite feminine this release. Paula Cheney's influence methinks!

I have been prepping the travel journal workshop I am doing in March this afternoon using Graphic 45 papers - not been easy ! Nice looking in the pad but difficult to put together.
Mickie

Expect Ranger are doing their usual and sending out just enough to create a demand, rather than satisfy it Rolling Eyes I guess that's business

Think the Graphic 45 papers will look very good once you have added the Jennie magic to them!  Amazes me that all those patterns do actually go together very nicely in the end.

Another amazing thing is that Margaret's snow is thawing whilst Jennie has blizzards Wink That might be the Shetland equivalent of sunshine at the back of the house and rain at the front Laughing
vonny

snow here too today but most has thawed during the day. At least the kids got to throw a few snowballs.
the boat sounds like a bargain Jennie -and good for Terry to have smoething to keep him busy!!!

Looking forward to seeing your new stamps when you have journalled with them mickie

-off for a cuppa now  Smile
Jennie

Aimee had fun!

Great photos, Jennie. It is amazing the difference a few miles can make to the weather. I was hoping the snow might be away today but it's not - mean to go to the gym this morning so hope the roads are okay. We have a slight slope up to the main road which can cause some problems.
Mickie

Love the photos.  Can never get my head round the fact that dogs love snow and play in it "barefoot" so to speak. Laughing Aimee certainly looks to be having a good time

Hope you get to the gym Margaret.  There's a bit of a slope up to the road I live on and it causes chaos when we do get ice and snow.

Got a wee bit behind with the journalling Vonny - I spent over an hour watching Dyanne Reaveley on YouTube.  I now desperately need her new paints, not to mention her new stamps.  It really is never ending isn't it?

Going out to lunch today which will be lovely and means I won't have to interrupt my crafting time this evening.
Miriam

Evening all....

Hope you are staying warm and safe in the snow.  we haven't had anything thankfully!!

You may want to check out the Paper Artsy blog at 7.15 tonight - nudge nudge!! LOL!!
Mickie

Thanks for the heads up Miriam - your samples are fabulous.  Well done that girl!  Look forward to seeing many more
Jennie

Woo hoo Miriam - how fabulous to be part of the new Paper Artsy releases. Your journal page is amazing, so colourful and the mauve flowers just pop out. Congratulations  Very Happy
Beckyb

Great page Miriam well done it is fun journalling isn't although I don't seem to be getting any thing done. My mojo has gone and taken my body with it 😀. We have been having probs with our shower had the man out and he has given us a new one very impressed so am am going to try it this morning fingers crossed. Craft club tonight looking forward to that.

Congrats Miriam on being showcased on PaperArtsy - you created some lovely pieces with the stamps.

Sorry your mojo seems to have gone Becky - perhaps your craft club might revive it!

I got to the gym yesterday and went for a swim - the pool has been closed for ages for refurbishing so it was nice to get back. Then it was out for coffee with a friend in the afternoon - we went to a new place which is beside the sea and although it is in the town you look out at the harbour and can see seals on the rocks. Very picturesque!

Got my book group at lunchtime and yoga in the evening. I'm going to Jennie's workshop on art journalling at the weekend so looking forward to having a play with lots of different materials. Margaret
vonny

gosh -gym and a swim -sounds a bit too much for one day. You are certainly busy at the moment Margaret.
Must pop over to Paperartsy......
Just been using some ceramic paint on a plate for my craft group. Wanted to see if it was ok through stencils and with simple stamps -both good but stamp could slip. they are going to paint mugs -or there are a few flower pots too -in a couple of weeks. i just have to keep ahead of the game!
Mickie

Everyone is so busy at the moment.  Love the idea of having coffee and watching the seals Margaret - all we get to look at the rocks and watch the train go by Laughing

Look forward to seeing what you do in Jennie's art journalling class

Becky hope the new shower works well and that and the craft club combine to get your mojo going again.

That does sound like a super class Vonny.  I am sure your group will love it.  Must be a bit tricky sometimes keeping ahead of things
Miriam

Evening all...

Thank you for all of the comments.  I was blown away yesterday.  The colours were totally out of my comfort zone!  But I loved the stamps and couldn't stop!  I sent a pic to Darcy as I didn't want to spoil it for people who hadn't seen the release and Darcy asked if she could post it - I was really chuffed!

Looks like my mojo has returned after last year!  Though my endometriosis is very very bad at the moment - it has affected my back for the last 2 days and I can barely move Sad  I have made it into work and went to Plymouth today - but I don't think it was my best decision!!!  Looking forward to the weekend.

Stay warm everyone - it is very chilly out there!
Beckyb

Morning all from a lovely sunny but cold Southampton did some knitting at club last night I have decided to knit a blanket for my bed it I am doing it in strips I had Mum's knitting bag and she had been knitting a scarf so I am going to use it in my blanket which will probably take me years to do.

Going to a craft show at Portsmouth on Sunday it is only a small one but there might be something to grab me.

   Becky x
Mickie

Sounds like a plan Becky - good luck with the blanket

Hope you have less pain today Miriam.

Lovely sunshine today so everything is rosier Laughing Think we've had all four seasons this week

Have book club on Sunday with Kathy Byrne at The Craft Barn.  Looking forward to that very much so hope the roads stay ice and snow free.  It has been so long since we chose our papers that I cannot begin to remember what the book will be so that will come as a nice surprise Laughing
vonny

loved what you did Miriam -took a wjile to find it tho. lots of inspiring work on that blog

Love the sound of knitting that scarf into your blanket Becky. i suggest you get some of the lovely chunky yarns that are available and use these with bigger needles to knit up quickly. And enjoy the craft show -bet you find something to buy!

Enjoy the book club mickie and miriam hope you are feeling better for the weekend
Beckyb

I am using chunky knit Vonny but might see if there is something else about. Was suppose to be going out today but don't feel up to it but  do have to do some shopping.Feels cold today.
