Glad you had a good week Becky despite the weather. It is actually snowing here today ! just on and off but enough to keep me inside!
Mickie

No snow here today - just cold, wet and windy and here's me wanting to turn the heating off what with it being spring and all Rolling Eyes

Last drawing class this morning - we had the life model today, who I must say was brilliant.  Can you imagine sitting or lying still for an hour?  I'm positive I couldn't do it for even a few minutes.  Out tutor is hoping to arrange a life class separately - do hope she does it on evenings I have free as I would love to carry on drawing from life.  So, the next session will be six weeks of watercolour, which is what interested me in the first place but am now not so keen on.  However as I do not know the first thing about watercolour I shall persevere.

Shame about the weather Becky - still always good to catch up.  Enjoy your play day today.
Beckyb

I am sure you will enjoy the watercolours sessions Mickie it is nice to try it all  and then you can pursue what you like most.

We have the sun trying to come out but it is struggling.

Craft club tonight it will be nice to catch up with friends it is more social than craft now but we get 10% off if we buy anything so worth it.

very windy hear but the sun is out. don't know how cold it is yet as haven't been out!
Shame about the weather in Wales Becky -more time in the pub tho! I know what you mean about it being nice to be home -where everything it just how you want it
Mickie the watercolour will probaly be great and you will be able to use what you learn with your stamoing too. At one of my craft groups a lady did a 2 hour intro to watercolour and everyone produced a recognisable scene painting -it was amazing. Looking forward to seeing what you do.
Becky don't go too mad woth that 10% off!
About to make a card or two then shopping with my Dad this afternoon.
Mickie

Wail, Wail, oh woe is me.  Have just realised i have missed my hairdressing appointment this morning Shocked For some reason I thought it was this afternoon - should have checked in the diary shouldn't I?  Now I have to wait for another appointment and it is a busy salon.  Oh woe, oh wail, oh misery me

Now the sun's gone in too.  Don't think this is going to be my day somehow
vonny

sounds like you are pulling your hair out which may solve the problem mickie  Laughing At least they don't charge for missed appts (or do they?) Hope you get one sorted soon- i have one this afternoon.

Having an easy morning, doing some knitting and the ATC swap for another forum. Made a few cards yesterday and will put in my gallery once scanned.
Mickie

Yesterday just kept getting worse - I managed to freeze the log in screen on my iPad and after I had sorted that and got it going again my broadband connection went awol.

Today, has been in stark contrast.  Took my friend to her out patient appointment in the morning and then we went for a fish and chip lunch and on to a matinee.  The matinee was a musical comedic version of Tommy and Tuppence's first case (Agatha Christie) and an absolute joy.  In fact I am still grinning!
vonny

glad you had a better day today mickie -funny how it goes.
I walked round to the hairdressers and was quite breathless so need to start working on building fitness again.
Beckyb

Hope you don't have to wait too long for a hair appt Mickie you always feel better after having your hair done but good you had a better day with your friend.
Has anyone got plans for the Easter weekend not doing eggs this year ,we are dog sitting next week Libby is going to France to Lourds and the others are off to Turkey so we get the dogs ☺. I ordered some Dylusion paints which are now at PO to be collected so Keith will do that he is also doing a tip run. Got craft club tonight think we are planning to play with perfect pearls.

Have been fitted in at the hairdressers next week.  Hate that, it means whoever is free will do the colouring and then there's a wait before the man himself can get round to the cutting.  I might be there for some time

Am off to the Craft Barn on Saturday for yet another class with Helen Chilton.  This time it is using DecoArt Interference Paints - we are doing the same scene twice; once in daytime and the other at night

Just watched a super video by France Papillon where she has created a journal page using bleached beeswax and some other paint/colouring media I have never heard of.  Shall have a look in my stash and see what I can substitute but no beeswax!  Hmmm.............wonder if they have any at The Craft Barn...........
Jennie

What an interesting life you lead Mickie - Helen Chiltens class sounds wonderful. And yes I know what you mean about missing an appointment and then getting fitted in!

Thankfully it hasn't snowed today, but it is still very cold. I have tried to craft today but bee interrupted all day long - all nice interruptions but now I've lost the thread of what I was going to do for my mixed media scrapbook page  Very Happy Hopefully it will come back to me - but sometimes these thoughts are lost forever  Laughing

Have a lovely Easter weekend everyone. Tomorrow is not a holiday here in Scotland only Monday.
vonny

perfect pearls and interference paints all sound very glimmery so enjoy! Think I need to dig out my mica based paints for a play.
Look forward to seeing your 2 different scenes Mickie
Also that video sounds interesting- I have some normal beeswax I think but assume bleached is white? Wonder if normal was would work? Was it on You tube you saw it?
Working on the stained glass project in March CS to see if it will be ok for my craft group -ok so far but will need to buy a few craft sheets!
This weekend on Sat I am going to a craft fair in the morning then to a friends for a sewing/craft session in the afternoon. Nothing else planned but my Gelli plate is calling.
Have a good one everyone  Smile
Beckyb

I have been playing with my perfect pearl the last couple of days haven't used them from ages. Hope the craft show is good Vonny and have fun with your gelli plate.Popping out to Zoe's later to catch up with Libs before she goes to France on Sunday she is so excited her 1st time away on her own. My mum always said that rain on Good Friday was appropriate so bring it on I say (and get it over with!).  I am hoping that the heavens will smile on us over the weekend.  Especially for the working folk who are trying to enjoy their first holiday of the year Wink

Funny you should mention Perfect Pearls Becky - I have got mine out too.  Been using them with Brushos and I am just wondering how they will work with paint.  Might have an experiment when I get a moment.

At this rate I shall be digging out the Twinkling H2Os!  I was never really sure what to do with them.

Enjoy your dog sitting Becky
vonny

Are Perfect pearls a powder? Sounds like you are both having fun. Been playing with gelli plate today -not sure if I'm learning much tho! Think the 2nd print is often better than the first one!
Mickie

Yes, they are Vonny.  In reality they are a micah powder with a bonding agent. You can mix them to a paste too with water and paint with them if you have a mind to.  There is also get a spray version (or you can make your own sprays up).

Not a very nice day here today so think I'll do some more crafting. I did a couple of ATCs last night - managed to come up with an idea for the CS rose stamp which I wasn't keen on. Now I'm working on this week's challenge for Less is More which is predominantly black! Taking part in these challenges certainly make you think about how to use your supplies.
vonny

thanks Mickie. i have some sprays with mica and they get clogged with it which is really annoying. I think the mica powders I have tend to need fixing- hair spray is suggested but I don't really like using it and find it doesn't really work anyway.
Managed a bit of crafting today but also did boring stuff like ironing!
Mickie

We use hair spray in the art class to fix pastels - I usually get someone else to spray mine.  Men do it best as they really do use a lot more than we women would!  Cheapest hair spray is best (i.e Tesco Value).  My hairdresser tells that hairspray is just liquid acrylic so best not to breathe it in when spraying:wink:

Your Less is More challenges are exactly that aren't they Margaret?  Love to see what you do with the current one

Vonny you can always paint with the contents of your mica sprays (shake 'em up first though).  As I type I have had a thought in connection with journal pages and runs.  Bet that would look interesting.  Might have to have a go tomorrow
vonny

thanks for that tip Mickie -never occurred to me to use them as paint. I try to roll them carfully to mix the mica before spraying. Reckon they would make good runs -enjoy playing  Very Happy
