Miserable day here.  Have decided i shall not be going anywhere.  Will stay in and craft instead.  Always the better option

Raining here too -the forst time I have driven to swimming since January as i didn't want to arrive as wet as I get in the pool. Spent the rest of the day quilting which always cheers up a miserable day.
Jennie

Went to Hastings with a friend for the day today.  No change there but we did have a nice lunch and a wander around the shops.  Looked for a comfy pair of shoes suitable for travelling, dining and workshopping.  Hmm! doesn't seem to be such a thing and here's me trying to travel light Rolling Eyes

Oh Becky, I am so sorry for you - do please look after yourself and rest.  If all else fails you could perhaps watch  crafting DVD (or YouTube), even just have a look at some Craft Stampers.

As to the Christening gown - I am sure yours are not the only tears that have been shed on it over the years.  What  lovely thing to have.  I would suggest you get in touch with V&A textiles dept or even The National Trust for good advice on storage.

Lovely sunny day yesterday.  It started a bit dull but just got better.  Today is set to do likewise.

Tried out the new Thai restaurant in town last night.  My friend and I had a sharing platter for two to start followed by Three Flavoured Sea Bass, which was lovely and rice.  We were so stuffed we couldn't manage a pud!  Oh dear, we shall just have to go back another time Laughing

Out again tonight, this time a Bistro Pub that does the most excellent food.  Then off to Harrogate in the morning.  I don't think I shall sleep tonight for shear excitement!  But then, there's always the possibility of indigestion! So looking forward to meeting Jennie too.  It just gets better and better.

Be good everyone, have  lovely weekend and I hope the sun shines for you all.

Becky that's lovely finding the christening gown even if it made you sad too -I think family heirlooms  are wonderful -as far as I know the only one we have is the wedding ring I wear which was my great great grandmothers on the distaff side of the family.
Micki advice re storage is a really good idea -all i know is wrapping in acid free tissue paper, keeping out of the light, checking regularly and re folding in a differnt way when related to quilts!

Mickie -you will be putting on the pounds if you are not carfeul unless you are one of those lucky people who just don't gain weight. I'm sure you will let us know all about the weekend   Very Happy
Beckyb

Thanks Vonny will get some acid free tissue paper I  have been told it is not to go in a wooden drawer or cardboard box.

been lovely here all day -sunny most of the morning then more cloudy in the afternoon. Did some spinning outside again
Mickie

Vonny you are so right, all the eating out I do, plus general lack of rushing around I used to do has taken its toll on my waistline.  Shall have to start managing my food intake in  more controlled manner once I get back from the Extravaganza weekend.   Embarassed

Good to see you are back on the up Becky.
