Beautiful photo Becky.  isn't Skype wonderful?  We are so lucky to have all the doubleyoos.  Speaking of beautiful photos - I do like the new avatar.

Such a miserable day and wouldn't you just know it?  Today I took delivery of the components for my proposed decking - two lovely young men carried it all in through the house to the garden, very carefully ensuring that they wiped their feet on the door mats, avoided all door frames and even stopped the back door from slamming.  All that with politeness and good humour too.

Lovely photos Becky. Glad the young men didn't make a mess of your house Mickie. Do they put up the decking too? Hope the good weather returns so you can enjoy it.

Loved the holiday photos on your blog, Jennie.

I had a nice day yesterday cooking a meal for friends. I don't do this very often but it is a good chance to try out new recipes. Unfortunately I forgot to take the sorbet out of the freezer! Hadn't used the ice cream maker for ages  - another kitchen gadget which seemed like a good idea at the time.

Hope to have a crafting session this evening as there are a few challenges I want to try. Margaret

Ta Da!  I have finally done it.

I have created a blog and written my first post.  www.mickiesutcliffe.blogspot.co.uk

Now I have a question.  Can anyone tell me how I go about writing on photos so that others cannot claim them as their own?

Congratulations, Mickie, on getting your blog set up.  It looks great! You do realise that it becomes very addictive. Sorry I can't help you about the photos - perhaps Jennie can. Margaret

Congratulations on your blog Mickie it is looking good. I had to smile at your decking arriving on one of the wettest days are you having the deck laid for you. Woke up to rain this morning but sun is coming out now so hopefully it will get better.Going to craft club tonight.

Becky it seems that if I am to have something delivered that has to go into the back garden you can bet your life that it will be pouring with rain.  I therefore give notice that I am having a mini shed (tool shed) delivered on Thursday, 30 October so best get your wet weather gear out that day as the rain will doubtless be of biblical proportions!

And yes Becky, my neighbour's gardening chappie will be laying the decking for me.

Went to Merriments Garden Centre today with my neighbour to have a look round the four acres of gardens (in the rain) and have lunch.  Between showers we managed to make it to one of the many gazebo type structures and so kept relatively dry.  Having to stay in the dry during the showers (I'm being polite it was actually periods of heavy rain) meant that we actually studied the views and perhaps got more out of the visit than we might have done had it been a dry day.  Lunch was lovely too, tomato and basil quiche with salad and feeling virtuous I had home made raspberry fool which filled a large wine glass, to follow.  I feel I ate too much so happily I shall not have to bother tonight!

well done Mickie- I relly don't think I would have time for a blog. It looks great. Decking sounds good too -the sun nearly came out today so perhasp things will pick up now the bank holiday is over.
Lovely photos Becky -you are a good looking family.

Made my tag yesterday (one advantage of rain) then went to a craft club committee meeting -and spent 2 hours today typing the minutes. got to do a newsletter by the end of the month too -feels a bit like work!!

So wet today that I drove to the swimming pool instead of walking- didn't feel so tired tho  Smile

We've actually had a beautiful day here today so I got out in the garden - had to have the occasional rest to read my book! Then I went to a yoga class this evening which was really good. There were only 4 of us this evening so got lots of individual attention.

Will need to get going with my ATCs as the end of the month is looming. I did start the "Take to the skies" one but couldn't get any inspiration.  Sad

Hope you get your paperwork done, Vonny. What would all these committees do without us retired folk?

Hope your weather improves down south. Margaret

good to have a workshop to look forward to Becky. Food shopping is boring but easting it later is much better  Smile
Started cold and wet here then got up to 20 degrees -pretty hard to know what to wear. At least it isn;t as cold as it was -hang on to your summer clothes a bit longer Becky.
Here is some of the underpass that we painted a couple of weeks ago.
