For this month your piece of artwork should have
- an image stamped with a custom ink pad
-a metal charm.
Good luck!

I think the custom ink pad may be tricky as i only have a few re-inkers. this is something i haven't really tried before, so good to be challenged

Watered down acrylic paint might work as well Vonny.

We made custom ink pads at the Retreat and used acrylic inks if that is any help.

I did make the ink pad during the "Tags" and I only used two reinkers - blue China and Shabby Shutters and it seemed to work ok.  I may use it again for this month's challenge rather than making a new one.

I think the idea it to re-use them and they are supposed to keep moist if you put them in those re-sealable bags. Do thye also have to go in the fridge (not sure where I may have heard this  Confused )

Very good price Becky.  I think I paid 3.99 with postage on top.

Vonny, I checked the one I made at the Retreat last night and it still works fine.  Just wish I had chosen better colours!  Oh and Yes, it is in one of those sealable plastic bags. Laughing

Not sure about keeping it in the fridge, but I have heard of inks being kept in the fridge during really hot weather.  Not that we've had much of that in the last couple of years Laughing

I tried the custom ink pad yesterday but was quite disappointed with the results - the images were quite pale.  Is that the way they should turn out or should I have put more ink on the pad?  Does the design matter?  I tried 2 but wasn't impressed with either.  Margaret   Question

I did try to revisit Tims tags to remind myself how to do this but it took ages to load and i was impatient and kept clicking so it got stuck. Next time i will go and get a drink while it is whirring! Don't think it should be pale (unless you use pale colours of course) and I think the stamp you choose is one where there are differen areas that can sensibley be different colours.

just had a thought and checked my one and only Tim DVD - The journey continues and the instructions are on that so i will view it during the week.
I expect it is in his book too.

The way Tim does it is to stamp the image on the pad and then "colour" the image in by dropping appropriate reinker colours onto the pad over the image.  When you want to stamp the image onto your project then you just use the pad like you would an ink pad.

Unfortunately for me he uses Cut n Dry felt, which I will have to send for.  This will depend on the outcome of my car's MOT on Wednesday Crying or Very sad

I used the cut n dry felt, but the wrong side  Embarassed but it still worked.  You do need to put quite a bit of ink on.  I actually can't find mine  Embarassed

Tim is also on the Ranger website showing how to make a custom ink pad - go into the videos and it is under "stickles".  This is quicker than trying to load the 12 tags which takes forever on my computer!

Here is my version. I have to admit to cheating as I didn't want to buy cut and dry felt and also the adirndack re-inkers (with the fine spouts similar to alcohol ink bottles) just to do this project - so I coloured the stamp with pens, huffed and stamped. I think it worked ok - and I saved myself some money  Razz
