[quote="vonny"]I started making these as i have got fed up with the ever increasing pile of scraps pieces of paper and card on my desk. i did use some of it but seemed to add even more. this is a simpler version of the leaf tags in Craft Stamper I suppose.

You are good using all your scraps this way.  I used to save my scraps and then I ended up with a huge great box full and eventually just to make space I threw them all out! Embarassed

I couldn't bring myself to chuck them so made myself use them instead. Always good to set yourself a challenge Smile

this technique was being demo'd at my local craft shop toady, so rushed home and tried it straight away (very unusual for me but it is quite a quick technique).
Black card. Use some glue that goes tacky when clear and add squiggles to one edge and spread it with finger. Once tacky take some gilding flakes (best tipped into a sandwich box for ease of use) pour over and rub onto glue with fingers. Keep rubbing to burnish and remove stray bits which go back into box. Spritz other side with mica sprays (I used gold and silver). Dry with heat gun. Emboss with Cuttlebug or similar. (You can use masks which I did, using a rubber sheet and a and c plates and a few shims. depending on which way you put the card in depends on of you get embossed or debossed image.)
Take black Staz on, hold flat and rub over raised image with the flakes on - volia! Very sophisticated I feel

I like the sound of this one.  Will have to print off the instructions and try it out.

I have finally finished the quilt that I have made for my parents for Xmas - and in good time. Just have to add a label.

Have also adapted Gaile Milburn's note holders as in CS Nov as Xmas pressies. The music one is for my piano teacher.

The quilt is lovely Vonny.  Your parents will be thrilled to have it.   Laughing

I am glad you were able to do the note holders too.  I think they are both really nice and if there are no takers for the tea cup one, you know where to send it Laughing  Laughing

I really did want those pointing fingers for the note boards but they are still out of stock so used the arrows - saved myself a little money too  Smile
