Our theme this month is:

FRAMES

and our technique is

STENCILLING

Another one you could combine if you so wish!

I am taking it that stencilling includes using stencils as well as stencilling  Very Happy

Well my Mum used to do stencilling but she had metal stencils and a thick bristle brush which she used to dab paint through the stencil with. So I took that as stencilling. But any use of stencils will be good  Very Happy

I think stencilling is anything using a stencil! The brushes were probably used more when decorating as they give a lot of control to add shading (I've got oranges and lemons all round my kitchen!) and you could get oil based stencil paints that didn't seep under the stencil. The stencil can be made of anything -I remember waxed card ones at school and also books with card ones for kids to use. Now of course we are spoilt for choice!

I've still got a light box collecting dust and in fact recently showed someone how to do this technique with the stencil taped to the window!
