Tuesday already! Got my eyes tested this morning and Terry had his done yesterday so between us as we both need new glasses we have run up a whopper of a bill  Shocked Thankfully our last pairs have lasted nearly three years so we should hopefully see a huge difference with the new lenses  Laughing

I have just been preparing for a talk I have been invited to give tomorrow night at one of the rural SWRIs. It is always very touching to be asked but I never know how to present my work, so I'll keep it short and get them all stamping a bookmark!

It is still VERY windy here - it was wild last night - and there have been no boats. Delighted to say that there is going to be another series of Shetland and the director and producers have been in Shetland these last couple of days looking at various areas for filming. At least they are seeing it at it's worst! Hopefully by May things will have calmed down a bit.

It was very cold today wasn't it. Went to see another movie - this one was for DH - Jack Reacher with Tom Cruise. Full on action and not something I would have gone to see myself. Hoping to do a bit of crafting now.

Vonny - SWRI is Scottish Womens Rural Institute basically Scottish WI. The talk went well and nearly everyone had a go at a bit of stamping. It was a long run out (40 miles round trip) but a lovely clear crisp night with a full moon so it was an easy drive.

I have been painting the sets tonight for the next two plays the drama group are doing - Directing the last and painting the next! We have to do everything! We are only just getting the base layer on at the moment, but next week we start working with a large wood stamp ( Laughing ) to create faux wood panels.   Needless to say I have come home with hair and glasses smothered with paint.

Hope you had a good visit with your Dad Becky. It has been very cold here and snowy flakes most of the day. Apparently we have snow forecast for tonight and through tomorrow. It is certainly cold enough for it to settle.

I have seen that film Rukhshana -I have read the books and Jack Reacher is a massive guy and a wanderer so I was worried that  Tom Cruise would not really fit the bill  -it was better than I thought so didn't have to pretend it was a totally different person  Smile
currently we have a frosting of snow on the cars -very pretty but not sure what it will be like in the morning -and I plan to be coppicing in the woods. i think we have to put some fences up round the stumps to stop the deer nibbling the new growth -all a big learning curve for me.

You are a busy lady Jennie really don't know where you get the energy and you can turn your hand to anything.
I will be thinking of you outside Vonny hope the knee pads help.
I am staying in it is very cold and wouldn't be surprised if we have snow so happy to be in.

We were planning on going out today but a glance outside made us decide it was a day to stay indoors in the warm. I've been making some cards that I'll need next month - wedding, silver anniversary and golden anniversary.

That wind is bitterly cold, shall be so glad when the wind changes direction - hopefully by Monday!

I have read most of the Lee Childs Jack Reacher books and couldn't believe it when Tom Cruise was chosen to play Jack Reacher! Haven't seen any of the films yet.

Hope the coppicing went okay Vonny but it must have been quite chilly out there.
I feel very sorry for the families who have come down early for a holiday at half term but with luck it should be warmer next week although I don't suppose it will be beach weather.

This one is the sequel to the original Jack Reacher movie. This one's called Jack Reacher - Never Go Back. I think Tom Cruise bought the option to make the movie and is the producer as well. DH likes action movies so this was right up his street.
Vonny I thought of you out in the woods in this weather and hoped you were well wrapped up.

thank you for your concern about me out in the woods -Mike thought I was mad to go. i was well wrapped up and actually it is warmer than you would expect in the woods as there is less wind. We also had a bonfire to sit round at lunch time which warmed one side of us. I didn't need my knee pads as we were cutting the hazel back higher than last time i was there -we did really well and  got them all done. Next we have to put fencing round to stop the deer eating new growth and prepare the cut wood for sale (hedging stakes and binders, fire wood).
I didn't realise there was a second Reacher film! Must keep and eye out for it.

Stamperama visit today -good to see Paperartsy demoing some of their new range ( and loads of new Infusions). I found it hard to choose what to buy so just got one set of stamps. Also some stamps from Inkilicious, a couple fo stencils and 2 Brilliance ink pads (haven't seen them around for a while to buy). Quite good for me  Smile

I love Brilliance inkpads. Their starlite black is my favourite grey.
Sounds like you had a very active day. I had a very relaxing weekend and am ready for a busy day today.
